Roger Wanttaja (Civilian)

Gender: Male
Hometown: Madison Heights, Michigan
Military Status: Civilian
About Me:
I attended the Wurtsmith AFB reunion held in September 2007. The old AMS barracks (225 Missile St.) was torn down in 2001 and the remainder of base barracks (except for the ’88 super dorm) have also been torn down. Currently, they’re building a new super hanger to facilitate 747 size aircraft maintenance. The next reunion will be held in September, 2009.

I've been a very blessed person after leaving the USAF. First, I worked at Chrysler for two years in the Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory. Then I moved on from there to a world-wide Tier 1 automotive supplier and have been there for over seventeen years. I've performed a variety of duties such as: Chassis Dynamometer Operator, Electronics Lab Manager and drive at the Chelsea and Dearborn Proving Grounds where I conduct a variety of vehicle engine and powertrain development tests. I've received 22 Outstanding Achievement awards and am a Gold Medalist recipient in the corporate TCS competition. Over the last eighteen months I’ve been working on a street legal 600HP super car capable of traveling over 200 MPH.
