Virgil Anderson (Navy)
Gender: Male
Marital Status: married
Hometown: Chipley, Florida
Military Status: Veteran
Military Branch: Navy
About Me:
I served aboard the USS Princeton LPH5 1964-66. I am currently (like most Vietnam Vets I know) embattled with the VA. I have a hearing on Monday, Jne 15, 2009 in which they are planning to sever my benefits for diabetes Type II connnected to Agent Orange exposure, based on the "boots on the ground" issue. I worked in aircraft supply stores aboard ship, and went ashore many times to accompany parts/engines . I went by both boat and helicopter, but the VA is demanding that I prove this and I have been unsuccessful in finding records, even at the National Archives which verify. I did find ships deck logs which at least verified that we were anchored in the harbor at ChuLai and supported the Marines there. If anyone has knowledge of any of us Navy guys leaving the ship for this type of thing and is willing to write me an email before Monday, it would be really helpful to me in this six year-long battle with the VA.
Thanks,
Lee "Andy" Anderson
