Posted by Grace Palmer on 12/26/2008 9:24am Please help us trace my mother-in-laws father, my children's great-grand-father. His name is Russell D Husted born 1920, has a brother called Linwood H Husted. Russell was based in Northern Ireland at some time during WWII. We think his army serial number was 33122607. He enlisted in Richmond Virginia on January 7th 1942. We have letters from Russell and his mother received after the war and they seemed to be living in Salem New Jersey. Russell and his mother knew about his daughter Anna Ward born October 7th 1942 and had been keen for contact. However, this never happened and Anna's mother refused to disclose any information to her about her American GI father. After her mothers recent death we have found affectionate letters asking about Anna and looking forward to seeing her. This never happened so the family would very much like any information or help in finding out about Russell Husted and his family. Please help if you can. Many Thanks Grace
Posted by Deborah Elam on 01/19/2009 9:22am According to the white pages, there is a Linwoood H. Husted, the 2nd that lives on the other side of town from me. I did call the phone number but no one answered. Perhaps this is the brother's son. Or maybe it is the brother and he did not use the 2nd at the end of his name. It is a local call for me if you need someone to go between to help gather info. Good luck. His info is below.
