Posted by Laurie Brian on 04/07/2003 3:02pm I'm a producer with Indigo Films for the History Channel, and I'm working on is a TV special called "Operation Reunion." It will tell the stories of combat war veterans seeking to reunite with other veterans who had a life-changing impact on them during combat. We're looking for veterans from the Vietnam War and more recent battles. We are specifically looking for stories involving individuals who haven't seen each other since the war. In the program we will recreate the combat moments when the life changing experience took place. We will include interviews with the veterans, and the others involved, in order to provide background. Finally, the reunion between the soldiers is the climax of the program, and we have private investigators working with us full-time to make this show and our reunions a success. We aim to produce the TV Special over Summer 2003, and all fees involved with the investigation will be funded by Indigo Films. Most importantly, in order to be considered for "Operation Reunion," stories must meet the following criteria: 1. Veterans looking to reunite must have lost touch, or have not had any contact with each other since their experience on the battlefield. 2. Veterans seeking to reunite must have a very strong, emotionally driven reason for wanting to do so. Some examples might include: wanting to bring closure to a combat event that resulted in PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder); or years of emotional, physical or mental hardship they wish to alleviate. 3. Veterans' stories must include combat, a rescue, or a battle-driven drama. I'm reachable directly at (415) 305-9554 or via email. Thanks for your time. Posted by Mylas Stubbs on 04/17/2014 10:07am I think what you are doing is a very good thing, but one thing I must say it is a hurtful thing to leave out Vets who did not see the battle field, but wishes to reunite with old buddies of yrs gone past. I myself was a Cold War vet keeping the peace in Europe was a life changing experience for me as well as for anyone that has been in uniform I wish all success to your efforts, and yet sorry for the joy that you might have brought to some vet out there who has been searching for old friends that was not during the latest wars. |
