Posted by Amanda Brady on 06/27/2001 12:27am They have both passed away, so I am fuzzy of the details and dates. But they were my parents, and I am trying to locate my mother's family in Seoul, Korea. Her father was HAN SOON DUK and her mother was PAK SOO OK. My mother died when I was five, and I never met her family. We lost contact after she passed away. She had four children. Two were born in Korea, two in the states. I have many pictures of her, and a list of her siblings and their birthdates. My father met her while stationed in Korea in the mid 50s, and married her around 1959 or 1960. They lived in Korea for a couple years, then moved to the US. Her second oldest brother was JOO SUK, and her youngest brother was CHANG SUK. Her oldest sister was YONG AE, and her youngest sister was SUH JA. The family's permanent address in the paperwork I received was #13, l-ka, Chungan-ro, Jaechon-up, Jaechon-gun, Chungehunbukdo. If you know how to reach her family, please email me at: amanda@brady.net |

Posted by Larry Coppala on 11/08/2008 4:35am In 1961 my Korean girlfriend was named Sok-Ja, and she lived in Song-Son-Ni. Which was about 5 miles East of Uijonbu/Uijongbu. (seen it spelled both ways) She had just had a baby about April '61. I met her in July '61. I'm telling you this because the name was unusual and spelled almost the same as the younger sister's.
