Posted by Melvyn Brown on 03/30/2002 6:32am Just a desparate attempt to see if you anyone came to Great Yarmouth when they were stationed at the RAF bases in the Ipswich area, and met my mother Lily Brown, or if you knew any of your friends that went out with her in 1954. obviously you can make out that I am A GI baby and do not know my fathers name,he was supposed to have died in 1954 in a motor cycle accident. My mother is dead now and so are all her family. I am clutching at straws really, but you never know do you. I look forward to hearing from any of you, from one half american to another. Regards Mel... |

Posted by Patricia Randall-Wetteroth on 02/07/2003 9:39am I am from Norwich Norfolk now living in the USA in Ny state and just saw your message and cannot recall knowing your Mother although I went to the bases Mildenhall, Lakenheath, and we all hung out in this pub in Gt.Yarmouth. I dated a guy who had a motor cycle who died on it from Lakenheath and he came from Oregon and due to this we did not get married so I do not know his family here. I still have his bracelet which says 13.6.59. I was told when I arrived at the base to met him he had died and that was so hard on me and he had already met my parents in Sprowston Norwich. Never went there again and I am now 63 years old married to American who was in the Navy. Back then we had a few deaths with American servicemen because they could not drive well on the other side of the road. I had been on his motorcycle many times also there were others who got killed so I do not think I can help you but felt I had to tell tell you this. I have not got any photoes now after this length of time. Do you have a name of any kind |
