Posted by Andrew Giddings on 06/27/2001 2:54pm I'm trying to track down a family friend with very little information and hope that you can help. All I know is that his name was Joe and served in the US Airforce at Chicksands in the late 1950s. We believe he was ground crew and we know that he drove a motorbike. We also know that he was tall, fair haired and believe he was from the southern United States. The family that he knew in England was Whitehead and they were based in Luton at the time. Posted by Joseph Pietrzak on 05/09/2003 12:55pm Contact the people at Chicksands and see if they have archival information. Also, you could contact the military attache at the embassy and request help-it seems you are trying to contact a friend of a family member for an EVENT-explain that and you might get help. having spent 7 years at the 'Sands in later years, check with the Rod & Gun club also-they have same archives.
