Posted by Frank Morelli, jr. on 12/24/2003 3:02pm I'm looking for a relative who served at Fort Knox around 1954/55. He also was sent to England, not sure of year. I'd like to find anything about him, if at all possible. His unit, his service number and where I could get copies of his service records. This is for a genealogy program that the family is putting together. His name was: JAMES FRANKLIN REDDEN, from RUTHERFORD, GIBSON COUNTY, TENNESSEE. He was born in Sep.22,1922 or there abouts. Thanks alot for your help. |

Posted by Jason Morgan on 11/22/2004 8:59pm I just saw where you posted (12-24-03) concerning James Franklin Redden. He was my mother's father whom she never knew. I was born and raised in Hardin County, KY (near Ft. Knox) where he married my grandmother, Bonnie L. Graham on 6-10-1955. My mother never knew him because he left shortly after she was born (2-18-1957). My grandmother has passed away in the past couple of years, however she never would tell anybody the story of James. I do not know why he left, and I really know little or nothing about him aside from what I have found on the marriage certificate I got from the Hardin Co. courthouse. I do have a picture of him in England with my grandmother. It's funny that I noticed your post now, because it was almost this time last year that I contacted a very nice lady in the state of Michigan who is related by marriage to the same man. Her and I compared pictures and concluded that it is the same man, who, in KY was known as "Pete" and, according to her, known as "Cubby" to the family that neither my mother nor I know. I do not wish to be any kind of nuisance to your family, but I am highly excited about the fact that my mother, my sister, and I have a family out there that we have never met. If you would like more info on James' family in KY, please email me at jlmorganky@yahoo.com and I will be more than happy to send you via USPS any pictures or documentation that I have. I look forward to hearing from you soon. Sincerely, Jason L. Morgan |
