I have been searching for several years now for some friends from the 712th ASOC. Georg Main, Noe Jimenez, Jeff Isherwood, Doug Ives, George Girouard and anyone else who was with the ASOC between 1987 and 1989.

I was in the 712th when it was the DASC and when it was renamed ASOC. My tour at Bergstrom was 78-80. I found that most people in the AF even in my career field didn't know what a DASC or ASOC was or had heard of the mission of the unit. I was told by someone at Langley that there were only 2 ASOCs in the States and 1 in Europe. I don't know if there was one in PACAF or not. Did they change the patch so there weren't silver cross hairs formed by the planes T tail over your heart? I mentioned to the first shirt when they started passing out the subdued patches. First he thought I was kidding around. then there was a unit message issued to darken the plane with a pen or marker and there would be a revised patch made. It's funny it passed the wing, 8th AF and TAC approval and the silver plane cross hairs were over looked.
