Posted by Ralph Robertson on 07/13/2001 6:11pm MY NAME IS RALPH ROBERTSON MY MOTHERS NAME IS JANETTE MURPHY BALFOUR ROBERTSON SHE MET MY FATHER RALPH MITCHELL NICK NAMED MITCH IN THE EARLY 60S SHE WAS MARRIED TO AN ENGLISH SOILDER BUT HE WAS ELSEWHERE WHEN THEY HAD AN AFFAIR. I WAS BORN 1/27/63 IN KILMARNOCK AYRSHIRE BUT MY FATHER RALPH MITCHELL WAS RELOCATED TO BILOXI MISS B EFORE I WAS BORN. HE DID KNOW THAT I WAS BORN AND WROTE BACK TO MY MOTHER FOR A LITTLE WHILE. BUT OVER THE YEARS THEY LOST CONTACT. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT SOMEONE COULD TELL ME THE NAME OF THE UNIT THAT WAS THERE IN THE 60S AND IM SURE MY FATHER WAS THERE IN 62. Posted by Calvin Conover on 06/19/2003 4:13pm I was stationed at Prestwick from '57 through Sep '60 and was in the 57th Air Rescue Squadron. There was also a AACS Squadron there as well as a MATS Squadron. Additionally there was a squadron of Air Police and the usual office types in base administration. Posted by Deborah Farner on 07/06/2005 3:33pm Ralph, I can't help you but wanted you to know I am in the same situation. My "father" would have served in the Army in Fulda Germany in 1960. My mother is German. She married another man in the Army when she was 6 months pregnant with me. He does not know that I know about all of this and my mother doesn't like to talk about it. I was never treated any differently then my siblings but just had a feeling. Mainly because I don't look like any one in the family! I wish you good luck in your search. I am just beginning.
