Hi, my name is Alan Radecki, and I work at the Mojave Airport, formerly MCAAS Mojave. I am involved with a small group of amateur historians who are interested in documenting and preserving the airports history. I came across your GISearch entry, and thought I would drop you a line. We are in the process of establishing ourselves as an active historical society, with the goal of some day opening a museum on the airport. Until that time, we are in the documentation process. One aspect of this is that we are trying to build a library of digital images and information for a "virtual museum" to be housed on the Mojave Chamber of Commerce website (www.mojave.ca.us), of which I am a webmaster. In that regard, we are looking for information from folks who were stationed here. We would like to here about what things were like when you were here, what you did, what life was like, what the town was like, etc. Also, if you have any photos of the station or the town from when you were here, we would love to get scans of them for the digital library. We feel like we are approaching a critical time, when the transition of generations will leave much of the areas history lost if it is not documented. Any help you can provide us in this regard would be very much appreciated!
