Pvt. William E. Coy was my grandfather. He was in Co.K 26th Infantry 1st Division. He was wounded in Italy by a German. Was then flown to an Army hospital in England where he was sketched by Rudolph Belarski, part of the USO Camp Shows on March 8, 1945. Melvin Carl Coy was my great uncle. He was wounded and captured at the Battle of the Bulge, he was a POW. I doubt anyone will remember or if anyone is still alive that would remember, but I figured it was worth a shot. Thank You.

I am a historian writing the world's first biography of the artist Rudolph Belarski, and I have been researching his period with the USO 1944-45 SKETCH ARTISTS program at Camp Shows in England. I would love to know more about the experiences of this marvelous family relic. I would also love to reproduce the sketch in the book. I look forward to hearing from you.
