Posted by Cassandra Hopewell on 07/05/2008 1:02pm Can anyone help.... My mother is called Susan and she is Britsh. Her father was an American Serviceman stationed at Wethersfield in Essex, England around 1943 (year my mum was born). Her mother was Ivy Freeman (since pased away) who lived in Braintree, Essex. We know that her father was called 'Dimples Del' but think his full name was Del Evard Bowing. We are unsure of the spelling so it could be something like Boeing/Boughen. We believe his home town may have been Dakota where he lived with his mother. He was unable to take my mother and grandmother back to the US because my grandmother already had another illegitimate child (not by a US serviceman!) If anyone has any information or links to the crew serving in Wethersfield at this time I would love to hear from you. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Cassandra Hopewell |
