Hi former wac trainees/volunteers: I want to compare memories with others who were my peers during basic training..Esp. those who got out prior to finishing basic. I am (Dot) Doroth Ann Hunt. I am 5 ft tall & weighed about 105 lbs then. Or less! I was recruited from Miami & recall that one of my peers last name was Darling. I am a brunette with brown eyes & measured probably, 35-22-32, back then. I wed in May of 67 in Miami to Isaac Seruya & moved to S.C. so lost all contact with everyone..He was an abusive spouse who was paranoid & kept me barefoot & pregnant plus cut me off from pals, family, & discouraged fraternizing with neighbors, or making new friends. I left him for the last time in 1976. By then I was lucky I remembered my name, DOB, or Mother, let alone pals known briefly at Ft. McClellan!! Let's get reaquainted, ok?? write me at mapa3@webtv.net

Saw your message, was wondering if we knew any of the same people. I lived in Hialeah at 126 W 34th St. At the North end of the horse track. I moved there from Charlotte NC in 1957. I got married at Palm Ave Methodist Church in Aug '63 to Sheila Strotman. My ride was a '56 Chevy convertable, white top, black bottom with gold scallops and red & white pinstripes. The name "Night/Hawk" was on the fenderskirts. I went to Henry H Filer when it had 7th, 8th & 9th grades. From 1957-1959. My name is Larry, aka "Link". I ran with some of the rough crowds in those days.

Hi There, Just ran across your message when I was trying to locate another WAC. I was in "A" Company. It sounds like being married was worse than basic training! I did finish, went to Clerical Tng. School and then was assigned to Fifth Army HQ in Chicago, which I loved until I was assigned to Fort Sheridan, IL. But I did try to go into Chicago on the weekends. I married a good looking MP, 'course we've divorced now! Being in the service is something that is a unique experience. I hope your life has been better after 1976! Teresa aka "MORT BABY" (back in those days)
