Cook, were the American members of the crew of B-25C 41-12470, shot down over Buna Papua New Guinea on July 26, 1942. Assigned to 90th Squadron 3rd Bombardment Group. US declared them dead in December 1945 and determined remains were unrecoverable, but recently available Australian records indicate remains recovered and document burial of the Australian co-pilot in May 1943. Seeking assistance in having US authorities review unknown remains for possible identification.
