Posted by Sandra Orosz on 10/19/2005 11:34pm My dad was stationed at Walker AFB, Roswell, NM in the mid '50's'. His name is Bill Boyd (William D Boyd) and my mom is Maggie (Margaret). My little brother's name is Bobby. Dad was with the 509th. My husband and I are camp hosts at Bottomless Lakes St. Park just outside of Roswell and I am trying to find my roots (we brats have a lot of roots LOL-wouldn't change a thing). I'm try to find the neighborhood and house that we lived in during that time-'56,57'. Dad cannot remember much about that time period. He does remember that we lived in a white house with a red roof on a corner lot. And he thinks it was on the south side of town. I know that we lived off base and that there was a small grocery store in the area that mom and dad used. I think we had an orange car-but I'm not positive. We went to Immanual Lutheran Church. I was only 6 so I don't remember too much more. Does anyone remember anything about my dad. Any information will be helpful. By the way both he and mom are alive and well living in Calif. |
