My father WILLIAM M. GOOB was in the 1st Battalion (Reinforced), 2nd Marines. He was on a deployment in the Mediterranean Sea from November 2, 1960 until May 8, 1961. I just recently found a "yearbook" of this deployment. And, it is set in a yearbook format. My father was in D Company. But, he had a friend with the last name Darnell who, when I looked in the book, was in A Company. His initials are G.R. I am hoping to locate him. I found several pictures of him and my father together. And, I was hoping he may give me some insight into my fathers Marine career.
