About Me:
I joined the USAF on January 11, 1962. After "Boot Camp" at Lackland, AFB, I went to Tech School at Sheppard, AFB, where I trained in AFSC 54550Y Equipment Cooling (HVAC&R). After a year at Ozona AFS, Texas, The DOD close down the site. Even though I repeatedly volunteered for overseas assignments, the remainder of my inlistment was spent at a DEW Line Bomarc Missile site in Western NY. After four years active duty and an Honorable Discharge, I continued in the HVAC&R service field, working at a Naval Ship Yard, United Air Lines, Hewlett Packard, where I met my future wife, and finishing my carrier at our local Community College. Our two boys are both OIF veterans. Paul, the eldest is currently in Iraq on his second tour with the Army 4th ID. His younger brother John served two tours in Iraq in the Marine Corps. He now works as an aircraft (A&P) mechanic with an Air Ambulance Service. My wife, Nancy, and I spend much of our time supporting the troops. I am a life member of the Vietnam Veterans of America,Chapter 223, and a member of the American Legion, Post 21. My wife and both our sons are members of the National Rifle Association, and I too am about to join. We are all native born Californians, and currently live in California. However, we are considering Colorado, which is my mother's birth place, as our new home. My email address is toko@sonic.net.
