I joined the Army in 1948 at Fort Ord, CA. Did my basic training there. Before I was shipped out to Korea. I was also a cook over there in Korea. I was a private when I went in. A CPL(T) 15 Aug. 51. Discharged 16 May 51 from Camp Roberts, CA. Was in the HQ 7th Armd Div (REPL). SP TNG School, 4th INF. Div. Fort Ord, CA. From Nov. \'48 to Nov. \'49 and RYCOM C & B School. ( Dates UNK). I actually signed up in 1947 for the Army. But they told me that I had have a parent(s) permission. So I waited until 1948 to go in. So this way I could surprise my mom.
