Helicopter Gunner Experience
Helicopter Gunner Experience
I was a volunteer soldier for the Shotgun Platoon V. To go to Viet-Nam as a Door Gunner. Stationed in Camp Holloway , Pleiku. Assigned to the 119th Aviation Co. We flew many missions of all types in support of the ARVN and the Special Forces Compounds scattered in the Central Highlands. I remember Dak To, Plei Me, Plei de Lem, Ban me Thout, Kontum, Nha Trang and many others. We came from our mother unit the 25th Inf. Div. in Schofield Barracks Hawaii, I was in HHC., Recon Platoon 35th Inf. The Cacti . that is were we returned after Viet-Nam. I had a lot of friends and met a lot of good people there too. Unfortunately some of them I only remember their last names.
