My Air Medals After flying many missions , of all types: Combat Assaults, Recon, VIP Haul, Ressuply, Rescue, Psy War etc etc, we were condecorated by General Forsite in Bien Hoa , where this picture was taken by an official Army Photographer. It really feels good to have survived this experience as a Helicopter Gunner. I would like to contact Lt. Thomas Simcox who was our Platoon Leader, I hope he is alive and well ,he was a real gentleman, excellent officer, a friend. I think he was a West Point graduate, I really admired his professionalism. I am grateful he choosed me as a member of the Shotgun Platoon mission. I never forget when he surprised me talking to me in Spanish, he learned it in Puerto Rico when his father was stationed there and , also never forget when we were told we had to return to Hawaii and I asked him....Sir I want to continue here I like my job can I stay , and he said " No..Mont we came together and we are going back together" Another excellent professional soldier that I never forget is our Platoon Sergeant......Sergeant Hamm And also Sgt Holbrook and Sgr Hegarty I think he was British. I thank you all ,for being unforgettable part of my personal history. Added on April 11, 2009 by Alex E. Montenegro
