He was in the Vietnam war around 1968- 1969. The helicopter he was in crashed on April 25 1969- 7 clicks from Hamburger Hill. He had 2 broken legs and a broken rifle. His nick name was Van. I would love more info on this crash or this date. Thanks to some help I found out some answers. Dong Ngai mountain. 58 men from Cav & air crew stripped machine guns and ammo from 4 hueys and set up a perimeter around 7 injured in the crashes. Bravo Co held out the night. Robert "VAN" VandenBerg was 1 of the injured
