In my professional capacity (Community Education Specialist) I work with high school students, teaching Life Skills, the focus is on teens who are at-risk. In our daily groups we discuss ways to improve communication skills, self-esteem, assertiveness skills, anger management, conflict resolution. This program also teaches prevention skills and how to recognize high-risk behaviors that are directly related to substance abuse, teen pregnancy, teen suicide, HIV infection, teen violence, and various family issues. I've been employed with my present job for eighr years, and have worked with teens for the past twenty-five years.
