Engaged to be married. Two sons of whom one is about to graduate in May, 2001. Steve has chosen to attend and been accepted at Indiana University/Purdue University Indianapolis. Alan is about to turn sisteen and thus qualify for his driver's license. He ranks number five in his sophomore class.
A teacher for over twenty-five years at various levels from middle school to high school and college. Periodically, I do research on my father, Roy J. Crumly, and his service in Company L, 137th Infantry Regiment, 35th Infantry Division in Europe from September 1, 1944 to August, 1945. His service number was 35 169 901. He was inducted in October , 1941 from our hometown of Crawfordsville, Indiana. He was processed at Fort Benjamin Harrison and trained amoung other places in Tennessee and North Carolina. That area of his background is sketchy. He shipped overseas to Europe August 25, 1944. He served in the Third Arm in the area around Metz, France, the Gremercey Forest, Sarreguemines, Germany, the Battle of the Bulge and the relief of Houffalize, Belgium and Villiers-la-Bonn-Eau. Then atteached to the Ninth Army and through central Germany to the Elbe River.
