Shelley Stone (Civilian)
Gender: Male
Hometown: Iowa
Military Status: Civilian
About Me:
I am in a relationship that just started last December after coming out of an 11 year relationship. You could say that I am starting all over in the Land of Enchantment!
After being honorably discharged from the ARMY in July 1989, I received an ARMY Scholarship to Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. I completed my Associate's Degree in Nursing and became an RN. Then, I completed my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Nursing. I became "certified" as a Developmental Disabilities Nurse Specialist and went on to get my Ph.D. in Religous Counseling to work with people who are terminal. However, my career took a turn when I started working with people with Mental Retardation and Mental Illness. I was the corporate Director of Health Services for ResCare over 33 states for 3 years and assumed the State Director position in New Mexico last year. I now run 5 programs across the State and have nearly 800 employees. My life is better now than I ever dreamed it would be.
