Brad Burdin (Civilian)
Gender: Male
Hometown: Muskegon, Michigan
Military Status: Veteran
About Me:
Married to #4 for four years, we met through a newspaper ad. 12 grandchildren. We have traveled up and down the country and across it several times since we left on a three month road trip in November of 1999 and simply never went home. Some cruises and out of the country snorkeling trips. I got sober in 1974 and stayed that way, my fun is a helluva lot cheaper than it used to be! I still play poker fairly often in local and distant casinos, it's still pretty good income as it was in the USN. Played poker tournaments for a while, did pretty well but found it a grind going to many of them so have slacked off on the big tournaments. I'd like to hear from some of the VAH-l, VF 51, AQA School, NAMTD 1008 and NAS Miramar Chief's club folks I knew.
Retired USN 1979, AQCS. GI Bill for BA, MA, all coursework for Doctorate in Psychology (yes, I got out of electronics and airplanes) but decided I didn't want to be non-hireable except as a manager, so declined the actual degree by not putting my dissertation into the library after being advanced to candidacy. Worked many areas of public sector mental health, declined further work in 1995. Professional poker player one year, dealt poker four years after that. Drove off cliff and broke back 1995, December, put back together at Balboa Naval Hospital, San Diego. Now am fully retired, traveling in a 36 foot 5th wheel trailer and am rebuilding a 1988 F-350 Diesel pickup as we go. Itinerary by breakdown has been ever exciting and eventful.
