Glenda Harris (Civilian)
Gender: Female
Hometown: South Carolina
Military Status: Veteran
About Me:
I am buying a big, old house in a great neighborhood which borders Baltimore City and
Baltimore County where I live with my daughter and my precious twin 8 year old grandsons.
Their father died when they were two years old and my daughter needed help raising them.
I also have a son who is married and has a two year old daugher, my only granddaughter.
My son served in the Army in Iraq during Desert Storm and is now in the Army Reserve in
Washington state. I am lucky enough to still have my wonderful mother alive who lives
about a half hour's drive from me.
I play the guitar (and have since age 15) and play and sing with a wonderful group
who now live in different states, but we do reunite to play gigs and also just
for fun. My partner owns a farm in the mountains of West Virginia
where we hold music fests and people come from all over the US to join in.
I love life, nature, music, animals, and people (not necessarily in that order).
P.S. I have brought music and song into my workplace - I perform at conferences
and other work-related events. Music - the universal connection!
Enjoy my job alot. Work in the Maryland Governor's Office for Children, Youth and Families where I am the coordinator
of a statewide effort to establish health centers in schools - elementary, middle and high schools. We do a lot of
conferences and I coordinate most of them. We write legislation to change policies at the state level to improve lives
of children and families. Very exciting and high political job working under our Lieutenant Kathleen Kennedy Townsend.
