4 mo. ship^s service laundry. Good work,but,traded for a guitar. The Putnam Pluckers needed more free time for 1 guitarzan,1st div., n I was demoted to deck ape. actually it was a promotion. I was first in port,every time,I VOLUNTEERED to hoist the Union Jack. Otherwise,I knew most of the crew,but,what I meant to them,..well, I hope good. I was full of horsing around. After 3 months not leaving the ship(saving for Cannes France liberty)I was confronted by the BOATS and My division Officer as to my behavior,what with the clowning,too,.... i coined the phrase ^Hawkeye^ used on M>A>S>H> as a defense, YOU HAVE TO GO CRAZY TO KEEP FROM GOING CRAZY . The Officer then allowed more relaxed conditions,and on hi-line refuel detail we got him a point-boost with a visiting Admiral,in that we goofed off ,did our and amazed the Admiral. I think MASH used alot of our "STUFF". Well the guys there should remember,that^s how we stayed awake..... I guess I was just one of the crew.
